Triton Space Technologies offers high-reliability pyrotechnic initiators, the Triton Standard Initiator 200 Series (TSI-200), engineered as a low-cost alternative to the NASA Standard Initiator (NSI) for aerospace and spaceflight ground testing. The Triton Standard Initiator family delivers NSI-equivalent performance using a stainless-steel housing and hermetic glass-to-metal seal—the same proven sealing technology used in the NSI—enabling bubble-leak-tight operation up to 10,000 psi. Designed for direct mechanical and electrical compatibility with existing NSI hardware, Triton initiators integrate seamlessly into ground-test systems while providing an unmatched price-to-performance advantage for non-flight and development applications
The TSI-200 is designed for full mechanical and electrical compatibility with the NASA Standard Initiator, featuring the same MS3112E8-2P electrical interface and 3/8-24 UNF MS33649-03 / AS5202-03 O-ring boss port for true drop-in integration with existing NSI-based ground-test hardware.
Our newest generation initiator, the Triton Standard Initiator 300 Series (TSI-300) features a modern MIL-DTL-38999/25YA98PN electrical interface for those preferring compatibility with this newer connection type. Additionally, the TSI-300 features redundant nichrome bridge wires for improved reliability.

Triton Standard Initiators are Shipped Inert
Uniquely, both the TSI-200 and TSI-300 are sold as an inert electrical devices thereby averting the logistical complications of shipping live pyrotechnic devices. Specifically, no ATF licenses are needed to purchase and transport the product and no hazardous shipping charges are incurred. Once the customer receives the TSI-200 or TSI-300, they fill the pyrotechnic cavity with a pyrogen of their choice immediately prior to use.
All Initiators are Individually Tested
With a single-use burst pressure greater than 10,000 psi, the Triton Standard Initiator 200 and 300 Series provide a reliable method of igniting pyrotechnics through a pressure tight seal simply not available in most consumer level ignition devices. Every TSI-200 and TSI-300 is individually pressure tested allowing you to use them with confidence.
